Our Aluminum Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boats (RIBs) are exceptionally stable with a smooth ride and good handling. They have self-baling decks and are of rugged construction.

In the early 1990's, we developed a tapered tube shape, in conjunction with Wing Inflatable of Arcata, California, to reduce the size of the tube forward to improve visibility and reduce windage. In addition to the tapered tube, we developed a tapered chine extension from midships to the stern that effectively deflects spray from the bottom of the tube, greatly reducing the tube damage caused by the abrasive action of spray. We named this feature the "wing chine."

Specmar Inc. designed RIB's and tubes have been manufactured by a number of professional boat building firms, both in the USA and abroad, under their own brand names. If the boat features a tapered tube and "wing chine", odds are it was based on a Specmar Inc. design.
